Poll question: Best Genesis Album
With Peter Gabriel, I'd have to go with The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. With Phil Collins, I'll go with Duke.

5. I can't believe Abacab is getting so many votes!
It seems like there really are two different groups of Genesis fans - those who know the good, pre-Abacab stuff, and those who are the johnny come latelies who either don't understand the earlier music, or don't know it exists.

And I don't say that just because of this poll, but for many, many years that has been my impression.

And I'm one of the johnny-come-latelies - my very first rock concert was the Abacab concert, which my parents gifted me with for my 16th birthday. And it was only after I was totally blown away by those fuckin' geniuses that I started to get into their older music with the help of a friend who was also into the older musics of many bands.
