Wasn't it Ken Kesey(R.I.P.) who said,
"Hippies are reincarnated Native Americans".

Maybe so, and I just can't escape the fact that down to my bones I feel a kinship with the Inca and Apache peoples. The very "earthy" nature of my being that gravitates towards the '60s and the "movement", seems to be what I harken back to(I am 48).
It's like a sense of "Welcome Home" emerges in me when I bring to mind these things and all things natural and sustainable.
There are missing pieces in this realm but someday my hope is to really be "home".
Peace

1. Funny, I've always felt a common thread between trance & rave and
certain Native American songs with the Big Drum. Robbie Robertson has explored this in his 'Music for the Native Americans.'

6. Are there more?
I'd like a list of the 'must see' places in the area and where to stay, if you would.
Sounds like you have seen the area quite a bit.
I will work on planning a trip.

Thanks!

Peru' has a great rail system. There is a train from Lima to Huancayo that crosses the continental divide. The grade is so steep it switch back( changes directions) it is a great day trip from Lima the capital of Spanish America. Pizarro's mummy in the cathedral(no peeing). The little town of Copcabana on the Bolivian side of the Lake is so neat.the norht coast is where they have the tribe that did all the erotic art real neat, however I forget the details. The zoo in Lima is fun to lots of precolombian stuff around "Parque de las leyendas. And I loved the food. Also, consider Ecuador the northern part of the empire. Some fantastic shangrila places in all three countries.
