Insomniacs check in!
This is an execrable situation to be up at 3:37 a.m. and not in the least sleepy. I listed to about 60 songs on my iPod and made a list of everything I need to do after finals and before moving to Texas, neither of which made me sleepy.

9. Can't fall asleep.
I have always had a problem w/ sleeping-it really is a disorder. I think that I might knock off sometime tomorrow afternoon. It's starting to catch up now.

18. I can't.
I want to go to the protests in KC but it is an hour drive and I am afraid that I might fall asleep while I am driving. Also, the community Easter egg hunt is today and I have to take my daughter to it.

20. Try to nap before the Hunt!
Forget the protest because You aren't going to be able to do your best for your daughter if you make yourself sick by not sleeping.

Have You seen a doctor about this sleeping problem?!?!

22. They recently cut back on my insurance.
So now I am one of the many workers who has none. That is why it is very important for me to find a new job.

26. I can suggest a natural non-prescription tea that might help you.
Drinking Chamomile tea and the smell of Lavender are both very calming.

I do remember why you're delaying a job change but I'm going to caution you to take better care of yourself now for the future of both you and your daughter.

28. without sugar!
If you really do need it to be sweet try honey.

Avoid any stimulant for as long as possible before you try to sleep.

No soda, coffee or chocolate !

29. I don't put sugar in coffee or tea.
It takes away from the taste. The most I put in tea is maybe lemon and honey-but only when I used to lose my voice (often when I was a high school and college debater).

Can you put a CD on replay to help drown out noise that might disturb your rest?

32. I've tried.
I just get like this when I have too much on my mind.
On a positive note, I did sleep two hours today!

33. That's a start.
 2 hours is better than nothing. Do you know what it was that woke you from your sleep?

I understand mind chatter. Or when there are too many things on your mind.

Try this exercise to calm your thoughts. Pick the safest most soothing natural place you can imaging. Then think about watching butterflies flit lazily from flower to flower, bunnies nibbling of tender shoots of grass, birds singing softly in the trees. Return your mind to tranquil thoughts as you breathe deeply. If you find your mind wandering ... simply repeating "breathe in, breathe out" again and again may be enough to calm the mind chatter so that you may lull yourself to sleep.

Don't give up trying this pattern during your sleep time everyday.

Because - you do know that 2 hours of sleep isn't enough rest.

15. Somebody needs to keep watch
at night. Everyone goes to sleep and expects everything to be OK when they get up in the morning. They don't realize there are lots of us making sure eveything IS ok in the morning. It's hard work though.

31. I have insomnia sometimes
I think my late work schedule has a lot to do with it.
I work second shift and then when I go home I'm still wired.
I usually try to have a couple of beers before bed but still I usually don't fall asleep until very late.
