Real Time with Bill Maher thread
Well someone had to do it.... Tonights conservative show... Maher eats all sorts of bullshit on the Middle East, but rails against dog sled racing... glad to see his priorities are straight... Seems like the panel today is gonna follow the typical pattern, have two politicians and one "hollywood liberal".... this show is sorely disappointing this season

Give me a break. Please, Bill, leave the Iditarod alone. It's THE LAST GREAT RACE, for Christ's sake. Jeez.

3. Bill is a member of Peta. That seems so weird to me, very PC
considering how unPC he is on most things. I was surprised.

All the politicians are Republicans (and half the audience). He sure is going for a change in his viewers, isn't he? He may be getting it by losing the ones who actually watch.

5. How'd you like the lies from the guy from Alaska. 80% of their oil
goes to Japan. He lied about that. He did mention they provide 25% of the west coast oil. This allows people to jump to the conclusion that most of the oil is coming here.

7. He lied about many many things
I found him to be laughable.... Talked about China, if ANWR has big finds China will benefit big time as they can't ship it anywhere else.. He was pretty repugnant.

10. He lies all the time...
I bet he didn't talk about the multiple ethics violations within his administration, did he? His attorney general had to resign for a conflict of interest. The lieutenant governor got taken to court TWICE for the biased way in which he wrote the election pamphlet, which cost the state over $100,000 to have it reprinted. And, of course, he appointed his disgusting daughter to finish off his term in Congress. He's a sleaze from 'way back.

the North here and was responsible for investing native corporation money into some really bad deals, losing millions of dollars for them. The Native corp. ultimately sued him and his bank and won a $10 million settlement after an eight-month trial, which up to that time was the longest trial in Alaska history. The bank was forced to close. I was a paralegal on this case representing the native corp, listened to tapes of hundreds of hours of him talking these people out of their money at corporation meetings, etc. My dislike of the man goes back a long, long ways.

12. thomas frank kicked ass
He really rocked just now. And Maher did a good job of questioning him.. It seems that Maher has just bought the Friedman view on the Middle East in general. Glad to see Frank getting some mainstream press.
