Women: Do You Use Under Arm Deodorant Or Anti-Perspiration?
Is it a necessity for you?

Some people don't use it because they don't have to.

B-)

3. Now then: I am a woman!
And I use anti-perspirant because I want to be and stay dry under my arms. I hate to sweat there. It's icky...Other places don't bother me as much, I have no idea why.

6. Is it the slick feeling, sliding back and forth?
Because that bugs me, too.

9. Actually no, the feeling that bothers me
is the sticky sensation that says "You forgot your anti-perspirant, and now you will be sticky and smelly all day long!" Uggghhhhh.....

14. I'm just the opposite
I only get sticky when the anti-perspirant is there drying things out and making the skin stick together.

Once it is gone, the underarms get slick and slide.

5. Interesting
I have a friend, who had a girlfriend, and she told him not to use deodorant because the smell turned her on.

I hope this doesn't get the thread locked. But that is the truth.

21. Now, stop it.
I have never solicited pics from women on the Web for the purposes of rendering opinions on desirability and Divaness. And I am not going to start now.

22. OK I get it!
Trust me, I am not beautiful in the classic sense...I just wondered what you meant by "diva." Now I know. I didn't mean my earlier remark to mean that men are turned on by me! Only my husband is, I think...

8. Depends on the clothes
Normally, deoderant. I think it's unhealthy not to sweat if your body needs to.

If I'm wearing something that shouldn't be sweated on, then I'll use anti-persperant.

10. So, your deodorant use depends upon fashion and clothing
That tells me your sensibilities are very advanced. I am impressed!

11. It is true that we need to sweat;
however, the armpit area is small compared with the total skin covering the whole body. I don't think that such a small area covered with anti-perspirant is damaging. I could be wrong, but I don't think so...

13. My SO says there is aluminum in many anti-perspirants
You all are going to die of Alzheimers. I'm never going to use the stuff again. I'll be stinky and smart.

has been exonerated from causing Alzheimer's.

I'm sorry you needed surgery, but I'm happy that this is an unintended consequence that worked to your benefit! Hope you're free of the cancer forever!

27. I use only deodorant, no anti-perspirant
I generally don't sweat anyway, so just use it to "be sure". No, I don't use THAT brand. I had trouble with the mechanism on two separate containers of that brand, wrote to them, and they never wrote back, so I stopped using THEIR product.
I stopped using anti-perspirants and switched to deodorants after reading numerous articles which said the anti-pperspirants could be hazardous to your health. I think it had to do with breast cancer.
It made sense not to clog up the pores which were trying to remove waste products from your body.
You have to read the label...there are very few true deodorants out there.

29. after all that talk about anti-perspirants and breast cancer
it was easy to find a woman's deodorant -- but now that the talk has died down, I haven't been able to find just a deodorant for over a year, no matter where I look. I really resent having to find the most feminine scent in men's deodorant to avoid the anti-perspirant. I usually pick ocean spray, but it's still too manly for my nose.

28. I use anti-persperent...
I move around a lot in my line of work, and I don't want to be stinky or have sweaty pit marks...especially if I go to the gym
