2. I shook my head in disbelief when I first saw
the commercial for that. Why not quit when you are ahead? The Ring was awesome~ they just screwed it up.

Money better spent: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: the Criterion Collection
Dark Side of the Rainbow~
3 Seasons of Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

Just, imho. ;)

3. I thought it would be "crap"
That's my one-word review!

While Samara still has a high creep-out factor, I thought the story just sucked dead ass. The first Ring was so much better. While not a classic, the first film did a good job developing the story, building suspense, etc. My eigth-grade daughter could have written a better script than the one I just saw.

And they wasted the beautiful location they had--Astoria. Wow. What a gorgeous place.

Anyway, I'd agree with "Meh" or "Feh." Both are spot on. :P

Peace,

RV

6. The scares in this one were really cheap.
Yes, there were cheap scares in the last Ring as well, but there was a ton of intense, cereberal scares and iomagery. The video tape alone freaked me out. This one had nothing (the digicam viewfinder scene notwithstanding).

4. It sucked
for a brief moment, I thought about asking for a refund like a typical a-hole customer.

5. Doesn't surprise me
Horror movies this year have so far, SUCKED. I hope George Romero's upcoming Land of the Dead proves to do good.

7. For a crappy remake, the TRAILER for Amityville Horror was creepier
than Ring 2.

9. Big fan here of the original Amityville!
What was in the preview? Does it look like it will be any good? I loved James Brolin in the 1st Amityville!

10. Dayum!!!
I didn't care too much for Amityville (I'm more into the Zombie genre than anything), but still...wow.

16. I hope that doesn't suck
I'm in dire need of good new horror movies...but they all suck these days. Plenty of scary moments or whatever, but no real substance.

8. Where could they go?
There did not seem to be anywhere to go anymore with the story after the first movie. So far, the reviews I've read have been average to negative. I might check it out though with my boyfriend this weekend!

11. I didn't have time to check rottentomatoes.com.
I picked up my wife from work and we headed straight to the theater. For the price of two tickets, nachos and drinks, we could have rented a decent flick and had dinner at our favorite Mexican place. This is what I get for not trying to be a creature of habit.
