1. One of the best concert films ever made, if not THE best.
You forgot Neil Young (and it's Joni Mitchell) :).

15. Concert for George is great.
It's truly disconcerting at times to see George's son standing on stage. I forget that it's not George. It's eerie.

17. Quite ...
a resemblance ain't he? I'm amazed that George married someone from Southern Calif. and a Latina to boot.

3. I got the DVD
The remix 5.1 is unbelievable. It is one of the best concert films ever.
As mentioned above..Concert for George is up at the top also.

14. I've got the DVD and the box set CDs
The box set contains all the music from the film plus many, many tracks that didn't make it into the movie.

I love the Band. A great American band even if they are mostly Canucks.

9. I've often wondered why Neil Diamond is on this otherwise
legendary DVD. I've decided that when the Band were poor, Neil Diamond must have been a really good guy and given them money.

10. Neil was a songwriter in the same place that Robbie wrote for
They are good friends. I know it's not "cool", but I think Neil Diamond is a really good songwriter.

11. No, Robbie Robertson has some questionable taste in music
sometimes (his solo albums are melodramatic sub-springsteen pretension, with all the wit and humor of your average Spanish Inquisition), and apparently was a big Neil Diamond fan. Robbie even produced Neil's 1976 album, "Beautiful Noise."

Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

18. Neil Diamond is a bit on the pop end of the spectrum, but I wouldn't
attribute his appearance to "questionable taste." He's a very fine songwriter, and he turned in a strong performance in this film.

I love Don't Look Back
Another legendary director, D A Pennebaker, and beautiful black and white photography. Great performances by Dylan and it really gives you a feel of what it was like to be Dylan in the late 60s.

13. Hey maveric, you really did a good thing by posting this.
You put my ear back on some of the best artists who ever laid down a cut in a studio, and then here they all were on stage in this film.

I appreciate the lift at the end of a long week.

Thanks.
