3. My birthday.
I was due on Christmas of 1974 but I arrived two days late and threw off the golf trip that my mom's ob had scheduled.
Nothing religious about it-just my very first act of rebellion.

10. I work all night.
When the traffic dies down, I can sometimes get online. Some nights it's really early and I have 8-10 hours of nothing better to do at work.
I am on other forums here too, though.

Just wondering.

6. Well there weren't states then, but yes.
Early yeomen to Lynne Massachusetts, and then on to be among the founders of Southampton Long Island.

I believe it was around the early 1630's-I need to look it up again sometime.

9. There are lots of good websites for Mass Bay Colony geneology
and history...too many to get into quickly, but they are easy to find by googling.

I still can't figure out to whom my American founder was married.
You'd think someone would have mentioned the death of dear old mom.

12. I did find mine.
I know her first name was Anne and she was from England. I used to know exactly where but it has slipped my mind at the moment.
My family was splintered in two during the Revolutionary War. The side that sided w/ the British kept their last name while my side changed one letter of the name to be different. I always thought that was interesting.

17. The tradition in my family is her name was Damaris
There is, or was, some sort of road or street in Southampton that was supposedly in memory of her.

That group of may family spread EVERYWHERE. There are Sayres blood well in every nook and cranny in the US. I am aware that there was a Sayre who was a prisoner in Andersonville Prison during the civil was and a Sayre who was a guard.

You would of course recognize cousin Zelda as F.S. Fitzgerald's crazy wife...

the crazy gene seems to be a good family marker. :silly:

14. My answer to that is that my family
came here in the 1600's and has married into various Native tribes over the years. They fought in the war for Indepedence on the "right" side. So I like to believe that I love the United States more than the 'Murikans!

38. Just a joke about KC.
If I didn't have child custody issues, I would have left years ago.

Father's side: English, Irish, Crow, Russian.
Mother's side: Irish, French, German (ffm172 actually helped me find some family there!), Memominee, Potawatamie, and lots of Scottish. Her greatgrandfather was in Vaudeville and used to tour the country when he first settled here. Supposedly Jewish somewhere too-but I haven't found it yet.

they were badmouthing the red staters and telling us that it was our fault that we lost the election. I told them to come here and pull off their airs to the common people. The poster refused and the thread got locked.

Of course, if you ever want the world's best BBQ brisket and want to see the stomping grounds of the lovable "Give 'em hell, Harry"...

I am really into the BTK case since it is nearby. And I was originally called for jury duty on John Robinson but was dismissed d/t conflict of interest (my job would have let me but no one wants someone who works w/ law enforcement on a jury). Never stood a chance for the jury.

46. Are you a cop or support staff?
I was a corrections officer/counselor once for a year, but I had "issues" with the administration, so decided to go back to paralegaling. Now I work at home transcribing criminal trials for appeals and grand juries under a contract with the state, so I've got the true crime stories in my ear all day long....a multiple rapist right now.
