4. Crickets are probably the sign for you guys.
Here in SoCal, we have the glorious mockingbird. The males sing all night long and it's wonderful! Once my husband repeatedly whistled a short tune outdoors, and the resident mocker actually picked it up and incorporated it into his own song. A sure sign of Spring, at last!

5. nature is anything BUT quiet.
i lived just outside of micanopy for about 3 years. at night the crickets would crank it up so loud i would have to close the windows and turn on the ac to be able to sleep.

not to mention the mosquitos that could carry you off...

WHAT a RACKET!

by my reckoning, Baclava and i are only about 1.5 to 2 hours east of you, so maybe it's time to form the U.C.L.A. (unknown corner of lower Alabama) DU group. Biloxi sounds like a fine place to meet.

13. You'll know summer is here when there is a thunderstorm at 3 pm
Some years we are dryer, but most times it will pour for 10 minutes between 3-4 pm, then the sun will come out and bake your ass.
