Woman Intentionally Rams Car Into Church - Says "God Doesn't Exist"

Waukesha - A woman intentionally rammed her car into St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Saturday, saying the deadly Brookfield shootings prove God does not exist, police Sgt. Jeff Fulwiler said Monday.

The woman was distraught over the shooting deaths of seven people earlier that day during a church service at the Sheraton hotel in Brookfield, he said. The gunman, Terry Ratzmann, 44, turned the gun on himself and also died.

She didn't know the victims.

Waukesha police were called to the 800 block of N. East Ave. after the accident, just after 11 p.m., Fulwiler said. The shootings occurred around 1 p.m.

The woman was unconscious when officers arrived and was taken to the Waukesha County Mental Health Center, Fulwiler said.

The woman's car was ruined, but there was no damage to the church, he said.

I never pass a church without thinking: What a waste of space. Also: Too bad big religion can't be taxed.
