1. Arguably better than Speed2, Cruise Control
Which, in this context, makes "Cruise" sound like some inevitable bodily function

2. M:I (the original) sucked pretty hard, too

I watched about 30 minutes of it last night. I mercifully had forgotten how stupid it was.

4. For me, if you've seen one Tom Cruise performance, you've seen them all.

8. Yep. And even after you've seen them all, and added them together,
it's still not a good performance, either.

He's a hack.

And both Mission Impossible movies, while kinda fun in an overblown way, were shit. And not just becuase of implausibility - I can live with that - but becuase they were so poorly written, and, especially, because Cruise is such a piece of shit actor.

Imagine how good Last Samurai would have been if they'd asked an actor to play Cruise's part.

10. I can (almost) understand why he's so touchy about the gay rumors.
He's not an actor...that is, not a character actor type (like William H. Macy)...he's TOM CRUISE. It's a marketable commodity in a way. And that commodity makes millions (probably billions by now) at the box office. And anything that would be seen as disrupting that commodity...such as rumors of him being gay...have to be crushed because of the box office.

6. mission impossible was implausible...two was laughably implausible...
the idea that two motorcyle occupants can collide in midair, both traveling in excess of 80 mph, and not have every bone in their bodies broken was downright hilarious.

someone should read a book on physics. That means, they both collided with the COMBINED SPEED of 160 mph. into a solid object, with no padding or protection....and got up and started kickboxing.

LOL!

9. the only thing I have seen that I liked him in
was Minority Report. And maybe Rain Man. Ordinarily, I think he is incredibly over-rated and I can't understand why he commands the salaries he does. ????? Usually he just plays the same characer over and over. His ex-wife is infinitely more talented than he is.

11. um...okay, I don't understand what you're saying here...
are you saying I shouldn't point out the flawed physics and just hate cruise?

well, I go no problem with disliking cruise...he's highly overrated, IMHO. His only credible performance was in Rain Man...everything else is just going through the motions.
He's an example of Hollywood's circular logic: he's a success because he gets put in successful films therefore he's a success.
