What's considered bad form on DU?
What do people do that you wish they wouldn't?

10. I'm sorry.
So, posting to ask what's bad form is, in and of itself, bad form.

Boy, a guy can't win.

16. It means, IMO, that there are a few cliques here. The "chosen ones" >
and their supporters.

Seems like anyone who'd been to high school would recognize that in this group. But then, what do I know. I went to boarding school in Europe.

47. Hmmm. I went to a private school in Europe myself.
But before I left American schools in 10th grade, I certainly knew cliques, and I certainly was not in them.

I hate the idea that people feel left out in the Lounge, and I honestly don't know what to do about it.

Our lovefests are NOT exclusive, how could they be? This isn't exactly a private, invitation-only, password-protected message board, is it?

When I first got here, I noticed a LOT of jokes I did NOT get. I just kept reading for a while until I got the feel of the place.

If you don't want to participate on DU anymore then just stop. Why make an announcement to the whole forum that you are leaving? I guess some people are drama queens or want attention. In any case, the "I'm leaving DU" threads really annoy me.

34. Speaking ill of the dead...The ugliest day in DU history, IMO, was the day
Bob Hope died. The vitriol and the hatred of some posters astonished me. I've never been a huge fan of Hope, but he and Delores gave millions to charity and he spent much of his life trying to ease the anguish that American servicemen and women felt being away from home in horrible situations. He shared their food, their foul weather, and even-occasionally-a bit of their danger.

His personal politics were the smallest part of the man and the response from some here was sickening..

Or complaining about others complaining (Uh Oh I just did that, but thats what this thread is for so its OK this time ;-)

61. Make a valid subject off-limits by starting a flamewar in the discussion..
so that the discussion isn't any longer about the topic at hand, but a fight between the people who want to discuss the topic and the two who want such discussions banned.

And then going back to one's little group and complaining that the people discussing the valid topic are "haters."
