2. "I wear the black"....
that song proved he was a Southerner preaching to the contrary choir. A progessive knowing his fanbase was regressive and not giving a F**k.

God speed to John and June Carter Cash.

3. I Walk The Line
I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time
I keep the ends out for the tie that binds
Because you're mine, I walk the line

I find it very, very easy to be true
I find myself alone when each day is through
Yes, I'll admit that I'm a fool for you
Because you're mine, I walk the line

As sure as night is dark and day is light
I keep you on my mind both day and night
And happiness I've known proves that it's right
Because you're mine, I walk the line

You've got a way to keep me on your side
You give me cause for love that I can't hide
For you I know I'd even try to turn the tide
Because you're mine, I walk the line

I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time
I keep the ends out for the tie that binds
Because you're mine, I walk the line

I walk the line

10. Yep,
Johnny Cash Ring Of Fire lyrics
Written by June Carter and Merle Kilgore
Recorded by Johnny Cash on 3/25/63
Number one - County Chart; Number 17 - Pop Chart

Love Is A Burning Thing
And It Makes A Fiery Ring
Bound By Wild Desire
I Fell Into A Ring Of Fire

CHORUS:
I Fell Into A Burning Ring Of Fire
I Went Down, Down, Down
And The Flames Went Higher

And It Burns, Burns, Burns
The Ring Of Fire
The Ring Of Fire

I Fell Into A Burning Ring Of Fire
I Went Down, Down, Down
And The Flames Went Higher

And It Burns, Burns, Burns
The Ring Of Fire
The Ring Of Fire

The Taste Of Love Is Sweet
When Hearts Like Ours Meet
I Fell For You Like A Child
Oh, But The Fire Went Wild

CHORUS
I Fell Into A Burning Ring Of Fire
I Went Down, Down, Down
And The Flames Went Higher

And It Burns, Burns, Burns
The Ring Of Fire
The Ring Of Fire

I Fell Into A Burning Ring Of Fire
I Went Down, Down, Down
And The Flames Went Higher

And It Burns, Burns, Burns
The Ring Of Fire
The Ring Of Fire

And It Burns, Burns, Burns

The Ring Of Fire

The Ring Of Fire

5. Ring of Fire & Hurt
I love hearing him sing those songs.

Hurt just broke my heart to watch, but he was still amazing.

6. I'm on such a Lucinda Williams kick right now.
She reminds me so much of Cash... the twang, the swagger, the talent.

He lives on.

8. I just recently started listening to her
She has an amazing sound. I've never seen her, but her music was awesome. I've got a CD on the way after listening to a few tracks from a friend's CD

11. My review of her live performances is mixed.
Unlike the great Mr. Cash, Lucinda struggled a bit live. Never seemed ready for that kind of pressure, always referring to a well-organized book of lyrics by the mic. It kind of bugged me. Until she started rocking and her voice just carried me away.

Check out "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road" for sure; a must-have for any serious music fan. More recently, I loved "World Without Tears" which is more Stones-influenced than Cash. 'Cept for that unmistakable twangy swagger.
