Damn ants!

I finally decided to tackle the weeds -- I definitely had a green yard but not due to grass. All the rain here in Phoenix helped me grow an exceptionally healthy crop of weeds.

I was nearly finished and yanked up a rather stubborn growth and it was covered in ants. Two of them bit my right hand and now it's swelling. Time for ice and benadryl.

I need some symphathy here.

1. Awwwww. Poor baby. You deserve a treat. How about a nice piece of

chocolate cake? or ice cream? I would say a nice stiff drink but I don't think that is a good idea with benedryl.

Ps Take a nice cool shower, and lay down after you take the benedryl, and next time you go shopping, buy some gardening gloves.

The gardening glove advice reminds me of my Dad. He's always telling me to wear gloves. Guess the old fart is right.

off topic, but when i was little i used to cover up ant hills thinking i trapped them in the ground :( i feel so bad for that now :cry:

The "Gardeing Guy", our local gardening expert here in Phoenix, says if you find an ant hill, to pour a cupful of white vinegar down it.

they're very reasonable and a good heart-to-heart discussion of the issues usually works.
