Here's to delivery drivers
One of the most thankless jobs ever. And when you order from an ethnic restaurant, you're likely to get an immigrant (who's probably not legal), struggling with English, and if he's new you can see him unfold the bills from his wallet trying to hide his confusion.

It's money, he tells himself. It's valuable. But why does it all look the same? What is it with America? Is everybody so rich that they don't care?

You know he's got a shitty job. You can rightfully guess he's being taken advantage of by his employer, and he's probably been screwed at least once by some customer who knew that he was giving back too much change--but-fuck-it-he's-some-goddamn-illegal-alien-and-if-he's-not-smart-enough-to-count-his-money-right-then-welcome-to-America-buddy.

So give him an extra buck if you can afford it. Yeah, if you do the math, it may seem like an outrageous fucking tip, percentage-wise, but think of it as an investment in the American Dream--which we all know is bullshit, but he's working hard for it, and you can't even get off your lazy ass to cook dinner.

And no, I'm not a driver. I'm somebody who just handed back the extra ten bucks the poor sod was about to give me, thinking, Ya know, if I was a Republican, you could've kissed that money goodbye.

1. Your absolutely right....
I have a local Chinese place I go to since they opened. Its a father & his son & daughter, they barely spoke any English when I first met them. On a few occasions I've crossed paths with them in my official capacity and helped them out. Since that time when ever I go there they are extremely prompt and friendly. I have been home laid up with a broken leg and have called a few times for orders. I can tell you how fast they come and they ask how I am doing. Apparently they discovered I got hurt. I always make sure the driver gets a $3 tip and I know he leave happy. They even deliver to me below the minimum of a ten dollar order.
