1. While I am a fan of Clapton, especially in Cream...
...Vaughan's playing touches me a lot more. There is just so much more soul in his singing and playing. IMHO, Vaughan was even better after he got clean. "In Step" was a great record.

5. I saw SRV in concert the summer he was killed...
In Park City Utah....an outdoor concert at the base of one of the ski runs. It was a beautiful warm clear June night. One that I will never forget. It was just awesome.

13. I saw him the year before, with Joe Cocker at the Miss. Colosseum
It was a magical evening. SRV was on fire.

6. That's easy! Might as well ask, "Which would you rather have on top of you
- the most beautiful man/woman you know, or 1500 pounds of rotting weasel flesh filled with maggots and covered in spent motor oil and orange rinds."

The answer is, of course, SRV.

7. Is This Even A Serious Question?
Of course, it's Stevie Ray Vaughan. It's like gravity or the speed of light or something.

Khash.

8. The night SRV died all the other players at Alpine Valley agreed that
he was the best that evening, especially when they all jammed together. That was Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Robert Cray and Stevie Ray Vaughan at Alpine Valley. I apologize if I left anyone out.

12. Clapton--his guitar can reach into my heart and soul.
Yes, he's put out mostly shit (with the exception of his blues albums) post-Derek & the Dominoes, but on his good stuff his guitar reaches into me like no one else's can.

14. Some of his early stuff with John Mayall's Blues Breakers and Cream
is powerful indeed, great tones and great tunes like "Sweet Wine".
I voted for SRV of course.
