I recently found out I am not pure European.

There is Cree from my grandfather,and Jewish from my grandmother. Stunned by this. Happy. Confused. I am a blonde blue eyed huge nordic Viking. I am Canadian.

SOMEONE somewhere in the family tree must have had brown eyes before my generation. My parents are both blue-eyed, but two of my siblings have green eyes.

7. Same thing happened to me.

Another Canadian with mainly (manly?) Nordic blood, who found out not too long ago about the native detour my heritage took at some point. A "country wife," perhaps, or something more legit. I'm a bit hazy on the details. But it's neat.

9. A lot of "Europeans" aren't pure European

...even if they have what they think is a fairly well defined family tree. The Muslims made it well into Europe before they were turned back at the battle of Potiers, and they brought a boatload of semetic and African bloodlines with them! And those were the days of raping, looting and pillaging on an awesome scale, so no doubt there was some mixing of bloodlines in the aftermath. Los Moros (the Moors) had Spain locked up for quite some time back in the day....

I suppose if you go back far enough, we all crawled out of the same basic ooze!

If yer people have been here fer more than a hunderd years its more than likely that you've got some Native blood mingling in your veins.

OTOH, I am STUNNED to hear in the same week that both Swede AND Abe Lincoln are Jewish.
