Cooking dinner... what are u having?
I'm making Chipped beef gravy on toast(popularly known in these parts as shit on the shingles) corn, cottage cheese and pinapple and homemade bread pudding for desert. A hearty meal on a late winters day.

6. Fried chicken
With some baked ziti from two nights ago on the side and a nice big artichoke. And I'm contemplating corn bread, not because I need it but because I love it so much and it doesn't seem like fried chicken without it.

10. Hot German Potato Salad
made in the crockpot:

6 medium potatoes
1 onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1/4 cup butter or olive oil
3 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. white pepper
1-1/2 cups water
1 lb. ring Polish sausage, cut into 1" chunks
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup sour cream

Peel potatoes and cut into chunks. Place in bottom of 4 quart crockpot. In small saucepan, saute onion and garlic in butter or olive oil until tender. Add flour, salt, and white pepper; cook and stir until blended. Add water and bring back to a boil, stirring constantly, until thickened. Pour over potatoes in crockpot. Top with chunks of Polish sausage and sprinkle with sugar. Cover and cook on LOW for 8-9 hours until potatoes are tender.

Add apple cider vinegar and sour cream and stir well. Cook for another 15-20 minutes until heated through.
