Babe Ruth's record was bogus. If it is the whole african americans were not allowed to play in the major leagues, I have a hard time buying it. He hit 714 homeruns, there may have been players in the Negro Leagues that could have hit more, but Ruth's record is the one "on the books" as it were, until Henry Aaron broke it!

if you want valid " record books " you have to allow everyone the same opportunity or else maybe just add an " * " as a reminder that the
records in question were accomplished while not allowing a lot of great players to play.
