1. It's their way, they can't help it

A variation on the theme is when they ask you to prove XYZ, and you do--you start out by citing facts, references, sources...and they step all over your argument by INTERRUPTING you and not letting you finish. This works best on time-limited talking head shows. It's gotten to the point where it is so obnoxious that even diehards can't bear to watch.
