4. No, but I'd love to.
I'd also like to try that Cuban sandwich made with smoked pork... looks delicious but I haven't a clue where to get one. I suppose I could try smoking some pork... but it's so time consuming.

6. Yes, in San Paulo
Fogo de Chao. It's pretty good here in Chicago, but in Brazil, it's phenomenal. They had "shrimp" the size of forearm on the salad bar, char grilled octopus and about 300 other items. Literally. And in Brazil, you're EXPECTED to spend four or five hours drinking wine and nibbling.

7. There's one here in Atlanta.
Excellent place. All-you-can-eat MEAT. You have a card on your table. One side red, the other green. You flip it over to green to signal that you're ready for more, and to red while taking a breather. Hehe.

14. Not only that, but the sticker shock too
In the States you pay $25-$30 for what you'd get for $10 in Brazil, and it's usually of inferior quality.

We have a pretty good one here in San Diego, but it bothers me to know how much I'm overpaying.

19. You talking about the one in the Gaslamp?
There was also a cheaper one in P.B. for a bit but I don't know if it's still around...

9. One in Puerto Vallarta, and finally one here in Minneapolis
They just got permission from the health department to do it here in Minneapolis a little over a year ago, and it is pretty good for Minnesota (which might have a dozen Brazilians living here).

No offense to the vegetarians and vegans here, but there's just something about grilled meat that can't be beat.

11. I gotcher rodizio right here!
My neighborhood is almost entirely Brazilian. Walk into a bar, and you feel like tourist.

Which means the food is fantastic.

Some restaurants make food to sell, these people make food to eat.

And although this may sound un-American, I must say, churrasco stomps American BBQ into the ground.

15. Love 'em
We've got a dozen or so in the Boston urban area, and they're just beginning to penetrate out into the suburbs.

I think "churrasco" is the machine it's cooked on: a gas grill with a motorized rotisserie feature. A bunch of big skewers get fitted into the motorized part, and cook evenly over the flame. Types of meat include roasts of beef and/or pork, sausages, chicken wings, chicken hearts (chewy little things; I can't see why Brazilians are so fond of them), and the place I usually go to wraps bacon around medallions of chicken and grills those. Yum!

There are a couple ways they serve it. At the places in my neck of the woods (like where I took the Matcoms after guitar shopping), you grab a plate, take side dishes from a steam table (check out the feijoado, a bean stew with random bits of meat), and then go up to the grill and order whatever looks good. Then they weigh your plate and charge you by the pound, then you sit down and eat. It's a lot cheaper than the style where they bring the skewers of meat to your table, but it definitely won't impress a date :D

16. Yes, in Brazil. It was a mindnumbing amount of meat, brought
to your table in waves. We had to wheelbarrow ourselves out of the place.
