I'm HOME!

Finally.

After 6 weeks in rural Indiana, including two extensions (I was supposed to be there for 3 weeks, then 4, then 6), I finally got home yesterday. I have a fast internet connection again! Water does not stain here, nor does it taste of rotten eggs, rust or lime. I have not had to clean even one dirty undergarment not mine in more than 48 hours. I have not heard wash pronounced worsh or heard an ending /g/ dropped.

It's GOOD to be home.

And yes, my great-grandfather is still alive, far healthier than when I arrived, and likely to make it through the summer at this rate.

2. Home is Boulder County, Colorado.

My family has lived in rural Indiana for the last 150+ years; we own vast tracts of land in the area.

It's lovely country, but I sure don't want to live there without turning the family farm into a commune a la The Farm.

The community is ... strange. Everyone knows EVERYTHING about everyone else, and it's insane. Small town, I guess, but I'm happy for the anonymity of Boulder.
