Why oh Why must we copycat every thread posted in the lounge

Is there no original thought left in the lounge?

I find most of the copycat threads irritating. All they do is push other threads off the front page.

Copycat threads are sometimes funny but quite a few of them are just annoying--and I think alot of the people who like to do them just want to be annoying.

Seriously though, I've been around since MONTH number 2 (February 2001) and i think it was always a silly place to go and decompress. I still think's it ok. If i want serious i'll go to LBN or GD. And i do!

I used to love it here.

Now I feel like I fell into a time warp and I'm reliving Junior High with the constant 'look at me' stuff.

I long for the days of original and interesting topics. Some funny, some serious. Ahhh.. those were the days!

14. I agree, for the most part.

There were a few days here at the end of last week when I had half of the Lounge threads Hidden, and approx. 1/3 of the posters on Ignore, because it became just so ridiculous.

I was in a pretty pissy mood, though, so I figured it was just me! ;)

16. I've been thinking it was just me...

I'm not a big poster but I've been coming to DU for years to read LBN, GD... and the lounge. It has just gotten so juvenile in the past few months. I like a clever funny (even silly) thread as much as everyone, but I find myself getting annoyed with pages and pages of inane posts -- and yes, they do push other stuff off the page.... Some of these people use the lounge like it's a chatroom. I wish this was not allowed..... I was afraid to ever say this in case I got flamed.
