My doctor just told me I had a stroke
It was a small one, but can I sue Bush over it?

1. OMG!
I'm sorry that happened. Just how small can a stroke be? Yes, you should be able to sue Bush, but unfortunately I don't think you can.

3. It's not really debilitating
I have some left side weakness, and my left hand and foot feel numb. The only thing I've noticed is that I've been tripping a lot.

2. Are you sure Clinton wasn't responsible?
On a serious note, Wow. Are you okay? Any permanent damage, or anything like that? I hope you're okay.

4. I can tell it happened
but I'm not debilitated. I'm scheduled for an MR on the 24th to see how extensive the damage is.

10. Oh yeah, I forgot
The Clenis is responsible for everything. His great prehensile majestic Clenis did this to me!

5. Damn, I'm sorry! Sounds like a TIA. Are you okay?
Edited on Wed Mar-09-05 09:25 AM by Fridays Child
On edit: After reading your other posts here, it sounds like something more than a TIA. Please rest and get better.

7. Yeah, that's what he thinks
I'm okay - just kind of weak on my left side. Probably the worst thing is that it puts me at risk for something much worse later.

Best wishes to you.

8. I can't take aspirin unfortunately
because of a perforated ulcer I had a couple of years ago. Thanks for the good wishes.

13. That bites. As most doctors will tell you they can't do diddily
once you've had one but there are preventative measures. My mom is a stroke victim who failed/nay refused to follow advice/take medications properly (blood pressure). :( Watch out for coumidin (sp), though, it's a nasty one (blood thinner). Why so long for the MRI?

14. It's the soonest they could get her in
Lots of people on the waiting list, I guess. I just LOVE managed care! But at least our system isn't an HMO...

16. I sort of figured that....Jeez.......good luck.
And as far as suing Bu$h, well if your Doctor suddenly produces documents that directly implicate the bastard and he urges you to take them to the media I'd say, don't!

24. Sounds like a plan
Or if we consider it, if we find Larry Burkett's name attached to them anywhere, I'll roast marshmallows over their fire.

9. We might have to wait until the MRI
Edited on Wed Mar-09-05 09:27 AM by derby378
Like ginbarn said, no aspirin - but as soon as we can grab something, we're there.

11. Now you can answer Herb Tarlek's age old question:
Edited on Wed Mar-09-05 09:33 AM by Richardo
"What does a stroke feel like?"

Seriously, I'm sorry, ginbarn, hope the MRI comes out OK.

12. That's an interesting question
I passed out, so I can't really say. Thanks Richardo - it's going to take a lot more than this to get me down. :loveya:

18. I was at home
And totally unaware that anything untoward had happened to me. Derby tells me that I passed out completely and was making weird gestures when I came to. I have absolutely no recollection of that. I felt like crap but got ready for work anyway. I got to work and couldn't put my key in the lock and my boss chewed me out. She told me she'd write me up and send me home if I came in to work like that again. So sorry to mess up your day, dear. I only had a stroke.

21. She told me I was "goofy"
I have no idea what she thought. She's actually put me in the hospital in the past with an ulcer and then told others that "now she feels bad". She's showing no remorse about how she treated me that day and frankly, I think it was better to be here than at home alone under the circumstances.

17. For God's sake...
be CAREFUL when yer balancing on one foot, trying to pee through yer big toe...

;-)

Hopefully they're mistaken re: the stroke/TIA. Wait & see what the pretty pictures tell 'em.

19. I can't even take off my pants without falling over!
At least right now. It would all be worth it to pee through my big toe. It's numb now, so how would I know I had to pee?

times, don't it. ;)

Best of luck with the tests and everything else. And a pox on your boss.

23. I've always said
that when I die, I want the person giving the eulogy to not be able to give it with a straight face. This stroke thing simply will not do. My boss is a psycho hose beast.
