I gotta say after living for a year with pretty well no TV
And being in a house with cable. After the initial shock of it all, you know watching the tube all the time, I really don't care for TV anymore.
Nothing interesting ever seems to be on. If I moved out and DID get cable, it'd be to watch the news, hockey, Simpsons and the Daily show.

ANyone else throw the box out the window only to discover it always sucked?

6. I dunno
I didn't watch it, but I gather it was quite inflammatory.

2. I went years without it...
...and the first thing I noticed when I had my first taste in 4 years, was how bombastic and aggressive it is. It's like having a drunken uncle ruin Thanksgiving dinner with imaginary war-stories and recounts of drunken trysts, and never leaving, except you're paying $40 a month to watch him.

3. The only reason why I have a TV is to watch my old MST 3K episodes,
Antiques Roadshow (on PBS) and Conan O'Brien (on NBC).

I haven't had a desire for cable since college. TV sucks. It'll kill your ass.

8. I went 9 months without a TV
and when I moved in with a roommate who did have cable TV I rarely watched it anymore. Just the Simpsons, Daily Show and West Wing when I get the chance. TV warps a persons view of reality.

11. I haven't watched a second of TV since I moved last summer.
Except for "The Daily Show," I haven't missed the damned thing a bit!

13. 5+ years with no TV here.
after awhile, people in the office learn not to preface small-talk with the phrase 'did you see...?'

14. Basically no T.V. for 4 years of university
I just couldn't be bothered to get one to take with me; I didn't miss it at all.

There is some good stuff on, but for the vast majority of the time it's brain-rotting nonsense.
