2 of my cats are longhaired, but the one in question gets the WORST mats. I ordered clippers, then shaved the sucker rather than torment us both with hours of careful cutting with scissors. At least he liked it. :D I'll never have trouble if I need to do it again!

2. My cats just had their little trips to the groomer

But next time, I'm going to hire you. My vet, dear sweet guy that he is, gets no points for kitty shaving.

It's been a bit of an ordeal. First, it was cold so I had to fix a down pillow in the chair for him and aim the heater toward him. Then it warmed up, he went outside and got sunburned and started scratching himself to death. A little calendula ointment on his shoulder helped that. I have to keep the shades down in my western windows so he doesn't repeat the sunburn trick. Other than that, he seems to be taking it well, but my other two cats have totally shunned him. Not that he cares.

lol - seriously! Mine looks very funny - he's totally uneven, and I believe he's got some razor burn in a few areas! :wow: He won't win any pageants with his new hairdo - but he's got to feel better without solid mats in his pits and creeping across his tummy. Bleah - he had so much dandruff and his underfuzz was so - greasy, that he got a bath as well.

He's a chill cat - so I'm not suprised he actually LIKED being de-furred. He loves to be brushed - even when it pulls.

It's not too cold here, and the thermostat is set so if it does get chilly it will heat up quickly. Mine doesn't go outside, so no sunburn danger - thank goodness! I'd never thought of that!

I don't think my 2 other cats have shunned him either - although I'm not sure yet about the eldest. He's still hiding so I can't give HIM a bath too :).

I thought it was warm enough today to leave the heater off. Well, the cat, instead of going to his chair as he usually does after breakfast, jumped on my lap and started shivering. He's not shy about letting me know his needs. He's now inscounced in his chair with the heater blowing on him.
