Holy Shite-the Wind is SHAKING my HOUSE!
:scared:

I live in a pretty airtight building, and the wind is gusting over 50 MPH! I'm afraid I'll lose power-it is scary!

And the temperature dropped from 50 degrees to 17 today. Why do I live here again?

25. It's windy as shit here (in VA), too and it's whistling?!
Edited on Tue Mar-08-05 10:49 PM by SCRUBDASHRUB
This morning we had high winds, heavy rain that turned to snow (snowed sideways!?), then it turned sunny and remaind windy. Yesterday, it was about 70 degrees. WTF?

2. It feels like Siberia
here in Maryland. Howling wind, drifting clouds of snow, roads turning to ice. Yesterday it was 70 degrees, today feels like the coldest week in January.

Think warm thoughts. Hot soup. Hot tea. Spring's coming.

6. It was warm here too (not 70, but pleasant out)
Normally this is the time to plan a garden, but it feels like January, and the temperatures the next few days are supposed to be 20-30 degrees below normal.

4. The same reason I came back here from California!
We're nuts, that's why!

I'm 40 miles west of you, and it's the same here. It took the radiators a while to catch up with the weather, so I was cold for most of the early afternoon. It steadily got worse until the wind came and rattled all the windows. I wish I'd been able to get the chimney fixed during the summer so I could get a fire going in the fireplace right about now.

Yeah, the windchill factor for tomorrow is supposed to be below 0. Yuck--I hate Punxatawney Phil. We need more winter like a hole in the head.

8. Oh what fun! I used to live in a tall box
At least, that was how I always described my former house. Tall, square box. When the wind would come down from the Gorge, the house would shake. It is a pretty scary feeling - sitting in an 1800 square foot house that is shaking.

Keep warm.

12. My sister almost got blown into traffic walking home
She said that the winds were coming from all angles, and she had to take shelter in a coffee shop for 20 minutes. The sleet was coming at her horizontally, and it felt like shards of glass.

10. IT IS INSANE!!
At 5pm it was nearly hailing, and I got whipped in the face with ice balls for 10 minutes of walking!! Now it is soooo windy and I have to walk in this archway to get to my dorm and the added wind tunnel effect was horrifying. I want to snuggle up in bed.

15. Well, it's a long story.
I'm still up for the 19th, but another poster who posts in the Massachusetts forum all the time suggested the 20th because there's an anti-war protest that day. Here's the link to the thread:

I can't make the 20th due to a prior obligation. I know that some people coming in from the 'burbs preferred the 19th.

21. Pretty Frikking Cold and Windy on Long Island
Man are we getting dumped on this winter- the coast is beaten to shit and it's cold and icy and I'm sick of it! We just set a record- third consecutive winter with more that 40 inches of snow.

I'm telling you, the planet is pissed off at us!

26. It's starting to get that way here
But it's been snowing all day and is supposed to continue into early afternoon tomorrow. Approx. 10 inches of new snow so far. It started out at about 30 and now is about 13 above so at least it's pretty warm out. The morning commute is going to be a real drag though.
