The Chi-Lites
The thread about 60s-70s soul got me thinking about this group.

Why weren't they the biggest thing around? They were amazing.

Eugene Record was in the same category as Smokey Robinson and Curtis Mayfield, as far as I'm concerned.

2. What an incredible era, period.
Note that there are many wanna-bes now, but they just don't have that "magic."

I was in HS in a small town founded by migrant workers, and it had a little tiny RnB station. This lily-white teenager got an incredible musical education I could not have received in another town.
