4. yeah, the Gene Barry "Name of the Game" episodes!
Especially that one where he has a "flash forward" about what the ravages of pollution will be...

But overall, my favorite series of the era was "The Prisoner..."

5. Wasn't that an excellent episode?
It was written by a sci-fi writer. Forget who it was right now.

And of course...you're right. I have to include "The Prisoner" in there...even though I STILL, to this day, have no idea whatsoever what the last episode was supposed to be about.

8. Spielberg directed it!
I just found out when looking it up on imdb. "L.A. 2017" was the episode -- we're pretty damn close, now. Gotta find the writer, though.

Yeah, I don't think I've seen that episode since it was aired, way back when, and I still remember it!

As for "The Prisoner" --well, the enigma keeps us watching, que no?

10. Spielberg directed that??!! Wow...
I knew he was doing television work early in his career...that episode of "Night Gallery" with Joan Crawford...and that great movie of the week, "Duel" with Dennis Weaver...but I didn't know Spielberg directed "L.A. 2017". Interesting.

Also - I've Got A Secret with Garry Moore and The Price Is Right with Bill Cullen. And Star Trek.

ETA The Twilight Zone - how could I have forgotten to include it?

I was really quite young, barely a teenager, but that show cemented my sense of humor and political persuasion.

17. The Rogues
not real well known but it had the best acting and the best plot lines ... way ahead of its time ...

big name cast included: David Niven, Gig Young, Charles Boyer, Robert Coote, Gladys Cooper and Larry Hagman

first aired: 9/13/1964
