5. probably divX files
in the same way that mp3 and other digital file formats for music are starting to make CDs semi-obsolete.

14. "divX" is the file format that most movie files on your PC come in
Have you ever downloaded a whole movie from one of the Internet file-sharing services like Kazaa or know someone who has? I'm talking about actual video files of whole entire movies that you can play on your PC. They probably are in divX format.

15. i know quite a few people with mp3 collections
In fact, I live in a house with 3 other people, and as far as I can tell I'm the only person who owns a music CD. I've never seen a CD in the house that wasn't mine, but we have a large collection of MP3's that my roommates downloaded from the Net.

I also see people listening to iPods everywhere. Their music isn't necessarily in mp3 file format specifically, but obviously it has to be in some sort of digital file format.

MP3 will not completely replace CD's, at least for a while, but they are definitely elbowing their way into the picture.

9. The TalkBack is a hoot
Some shit about the DVD-RAM drive--this thing Panasonic (IIRC) invented that was supposed to be the future of removable storage. The poster loved them. I had one of those fucking drives, and if you dig deep enough in the Cumberland County landfill you might find it, too. Totally worthless.
