11. Blegh.
I'd rather make a compilation of cool 70s funk tunes.

Anything with Parliament, the Brothers Johnson, Earth, Wind and Fire, and Shuggie Otis would be just great.

I love that song. It always brought tears to my eyes anyway. That made it even more special.

A friend of mine was standing near the aisle, and was just bawling when I got near her. I was hoping that was a GOOD thing! :D

50. Kinda funny though...
I was almost welling up as I walked down the aisle, but then when I got up there, almost got a horrible case of the giggles; I was so nervous!

reprehensor was looking at me, just about crying, looking at me with complete adoration, and here I am trying not to laugh! I felt bad, but just wanted it to be over. I hated the wedding. Wanted to get to the being married part.

LP called Tellin' Lies...I'd love...Or Come Go With Me

As you can tell, even on the slow tunes, I am into high energy...on the Billy Stewart long version of Summertime there's a great sax solo that I think you'd enjoy.

Edited on Tue Mar-08-05 04:17 PM by ZoCrowes
Oh shit any 60s soul is allowable?? How long do you have because we are gonna be here a while! I am gonna try to keep it to one song per artist

If You Can Want by Smokey Robinson

Heatwave by Martha and the Vandellas

I Want You Back by The Jackson 5 (that was 1968 wasn't it?)

The Way You Do The Things You Do by the Temptations

See Saw-Aretha Franklin

Let Me Come On Home by Otis Redding (killer guitar from Steve Cropper on here)

If I Had A Hammer by Eddie Floyd

Twistin The Night Away by Sam Cooke

Unchain My Heart by Ray Charles

867-5309 by Wilson Pickett

Hold On by Sam and Dave

Stand By Me by Ben E King

Let's see I think I covered most of the bases. Got some Motown, Stax/Volt and Atlantic. Hmmm I am gonna go dig through my record collection now and my a 60s soul comp for my car. And yes, I do own a record that each of those songs are on. No downloading for me thank you.

49. I realize that

but I think there were better acts on Motown in the mid-60s.

However he did not leave Motown but he did gain artistic control of his work after the success of Marvin Gaye's Whats Going On.

Stevie is pretty hit or miss with me. There is no denying his genius but for every Music Of My Mind or Songs In The Key Of Life there is a Secret Life of Plants. His ballads always somewhat plodding to me. But when it all boils down to it songs like Ebony Eyes, Boogie On Reggae Woman, As and Superstition are some of the greatest songs of the 70s...hell all time.

"Respect" by Aretha, as well as everything else on her first Golden Hits album, including "Chain of Fools", "Since You've Been Gone", "Ain't No Way".
