It's my 1,000th post. Am I in the club now?
And if so, where can I pick up my Secret Decoder Ring?

You haven't performed the DU initiation dance...

It involves alcohol, nudity and a public place.

Once this is completed, you may have your decoder ring...

6. Fine by me, where and when?
But you might want to reconsider the nudity requirement, unless you really like scars.

Do I get to pick the type of alcohol, or do I have to take whatever comes out of the funnel?

3. To get into the club...
...you must proceed on a marvellous quest, a lengthy journey...

not really, you're in already.

You may have to go through the initiation ceremony of flirting with revolutionary acts or Jimmy Jazz though.

7. Does this count?
Last week, I told revolutionaryacts that

her eyes were like azure pools of cool, refreshing water;
her hair was as soft and golden as August cornsilk;
her lips were as rubine as the juice of the ripest pomegranate

or words to that effect. I wasn't flirting, though, just trying to cheer her up. Can I use it to fulfill the flirting requirement anyway?

9. Pick them up at Sonic? You mean Sonic Burgers?
Please, PLEASE don't torture me like that. The closest Sonic is about 400 miles from here.

Though for some reason, they taunt me by advertising on one of the TV channels my son watches. If they keep it up, I'm going to DEMAND that they expand into New England, or I'll sue them for provoking unrequited hunger and cravings.

13. Sonic is my friend
I first ate at a Sonic in New Mexico on Route 66. They are big Dem donors. But you have to order the footlong Coney and a coconut cream pie shake to get the ring.

14. Sonic would be my friend too,
if they'd open up even one goddamn restaurant in New England.

I saw their commercial again tonight. Why do they continue to make me suffer?
