15. Supposedly comes from a 1950's song "The Letter", originally "puppetutes".
"One song was "The Letter," Green's attempt to conjure up his dream woman. The mystery words, J.K. ascertained after talking with Green, were "puppetutes" and "pizmotality." (Green wasn't much for writing things down, so the spellings are approximate.)

"Pizmotality described words of such secrecy that they could only be spoken to the one you loved," Green told Cryer. And puppetutes? "A term I coined to mean a secret paper-doll fantasy figure , who would be my everything and bear my children." Not real PC, but look, it was 1954."

5. "Tin roof rusted"
It's an old Southern putdown of redheads: Your tin roof's rusted (your hair's red).

12. According to the singer...
there was no meaning. It was just a lyric that she was saying.

14. Allegedly it's literal...
Supposedly there was a beat up old "Love Shack" where the band used to hang out... it recently burned down.

http://onlineathens.com/stories/121604/new_20041216054.shtml

<snip>

"I just was in touch with the B-52's, and there are pictures throughout the book they just came out with," Huestis said. "It's where Kate Pierson lived when she was going to the University (of Georgia). They said it was the original Love Shack and was where they created (the hit song) 'Rock Lobster.' "

<snip>

The book recounts how after the band formed, its members spent hours in Pierson's digs, putting on makeup and wigs, trying on the used threads bought on the cheap at the Potter's House, partying with friends and making up the songs that would later make them famous like "Love Shack:"

<snip>

Mack Elder, whose late mother-in-law had owned the dairy farm, said the dwelling Pierson rented once housed farm hands, and since it lacked both plumbing and running water, he would occasionally bump into Pierson when she'd go to the main house to fill up buckets of water.

<snip>

Except for the charred frame and chimney, about all that remains of Pierson's former house is that feature about which bandmate Cindy Wilson shouts after "Love Shack's" final refrain: "Tin roof. Rusted!"

16. Athens is a fun place to visit. Unless you have friends/family at UGA,
you can do it all in a day and drive back to Atlanta. :P
