I'm so-o-o excited! iTunes is nearly done converting my audio files...
...from MP3 to AAC. It's only taken over 72 hours!

Hopefully when it's done, I'll be able to use iTunes without it making the songs skip...

2. Mine was stolen...
...but I really liked it. When I can afford another one, I'm first in line. the new "photo" one is intruiging.

4. download music?
Yes, iTunes has a legal, per-song/per-album download service. I don't think you can download direct to your iPod...I think it has to go through your computer.

I'm probably the wrong guy to ask about such things, though. Not only am I on PC (not Mac), but I can't even stop the "12:00" in my VCR from flashing.

5. depends on what you're trying to download and where you're dl'ing
to. to your computer: yes. you don't even have to convert from mp3 to aac, if i'm not mistaken (for ipod anyways)

aac is a better format, bc it takes up less space and to my ears it's just as good as what you pull off the cd.

6. So you have to have some sort of connection.
It's not like a walkman that could go online.

13. No, I think you misunderstood.
You DO need an internet connection. You download the files from the internet to your computer, and then you transfer them to the iPod via a cable which comes with it.

7. Why do the songs skip?
It shouldn't have any problem playing the audio files regardless of the format.

8. I think my 512 of RAM isn't quite enough...
I'm hoping the smaller files will help.
