Hate to say it, but I'm getting to the age where I sometimes enjoy "easy listening" music... that is, great standards, well performed, and I find her voice very sultry and appealing. She always picks one really terrible cover per record ("Frim Fram Sauce" or "Popsicle Toes" for crying out loud!) but she more than makes up for it with something like "Cry Me A River" or "Let's Face the Music and Dance." Saw her live a couple of times, and she's really endearing... it was kind of weird when one of my favorite singers (and objects of desire) married my all-time favorite singer (Elvis Costello)... it was almost like *I* was vicariously marrying her or something. Yeah, I need to get out more...

3. YES
I love her mature sophisticated style. This is unlike the pre-packaged assembly line mass produced music that comes out from the likes of Brittney Spears.

She just doesn't do it for me. No range.

14. I have to agree
a simulation of a jazz singer. Or really, coming as she does on the heels of Cassandra Wilson, a simulation of a simulation of a jazz singer.

Krall and Costello

TORONTO, Ontario (AP) -- Jazz singer Diana Krall has tied the knot with her beau of one year, Elvis Costello, in a wedding near London, Costello's public relations firm confirmed on Wednesday.

The couple married Saturday night in a ceremony at Elton John's mansion in Surrey, England, Canada's Globe and Mail newspaper reported.

12. I think she's #3, not #5
There was the woman E was married to when he started out, who he dumped for Cait O'Riordan of the Pogues, and I guess he ditched Cait for Diana.

That's only one more than Britney or Michael Jackson...
