1. No, not really.
Sometimes I enjoy rainy days. Sometimes I enjoy Mondays. I was born on a rainy Monday.

6. I didn't observe the weather, of course.
I'm going by my mother's recollection. :)

8. All my mother told me about my birth was that I was born just in time
for dinner (5:45pm) causing her to just miss dinner and have to wait till the next morning for hospital food!

9. That's exactly the sort of story my mother likes to tell.
My little sister decided to make her arrival the afternoon of my grandfather's birthday party. My mother refused to leave for the hospital until she'd had a chance to have her slice of lemon pie!

(In this day and age, the nurses would have brought your mother a snack after she gave birth - heck with waiting until morning! She must have been starved.)

11. In those days moms got lots of drugs and dads weren't allowed in the room
and the things they did to women sound pretty awful! They also kept you in bed for 4-5 days after the birth- nowadays insurance companies wouldn't tolerate it and they say its better to be up and around.

12. True.
My mom hated the long stay at the hospital. She always wanted to be up and around the next day, and she hated that the nurses got a propietary attitude about the babies.
