Motley Crue, Judas Priest, and Billy Idol

1. Are all three going to be on tour together?
I bet they could pack the house at the Jackson Ice Arena.

4. I welcome the new Priest CD
I haven't heard any of it yet, but I'm pretty sure it'll be better than half the bs that's played on MTV or pop radio.

Motley and Billy are not in the same league.

5. I heard the first release single today,
and while I am not a trained music critic, my opinions were:

Dated. Trite. Crapola.

It's too bad, I saw them in 1983 and it was a good show.

Don't care for the other two.

8. That new Priest CD actually ROCKS.
It's better and more consistent than many of their "golden era" Halford discs.

A couple of songs suck, but that happens on 95% of ANY CDs you buy.

If a person didn't like Judas Priest the first time around, this CD probably won't convert them because they haven't changed.

But for that very reason, I really can't understand a former fan being disappointed.

10. I think mainly
Edited on Mon Mar-07-05 08:58 PM by Dave Reynolds
my tastes have changed (and not necessarily for the better).

Almost every artist I listened to in the 80's sounds bad to me now, even the ones that I wore cassettes out listening to. That included JP's Screaming for Vengeance.

Cool cover art, though.

11. Asia HAS a new CD...a few months old, but basically new (Aug. 04)
Basically founding member Geoff Downes (Buggles & Yes), John Payne (who's handled vocals and bass since John Wetton's departure), Chris Slade (former AC/DC drummer) and Guthrie Govan on guitars.

Same critique as Judas Priest. It's about as good as anything from the John Wetton-Steve Howe era, and if someone hated THAT, they would MOST ASSUREDLY hate THIS. It's "prog-pop." That's what Asia DOES.
