1. Patience, tigereye,
I know you up there in the NE have had one helluva winter. Spring is coming. Patience. I use my phrase "this too shall pass" when I feel discouraged about whatever. You WILL have your day of sun, and hopefully soon. Or you could move to sunny (lol) southern CA for more sunny days!

2. we joke about moving
I grew up in cloudy Western Pa and have lived here all my life, but warmer climes and frequent sun would be very cool! THe joke here is, what is that big orange light? oh, it's the sun!

3. California is a very beautiful place, but
You can't live on the beach unless you have oodles of money. The freeways are horrendous to ride on, and when the Santa Ana winds blow, the smog will choke you. Normally we have the winds from the west, off the ocean. SA winds come from the NE, and they blow the air pollution from that direction out over those lucky souls who live near the beach. But when the weather's beautiful, which it is most of the time, we wouldn't live anywhere else! And who cares about earthquakes! We're used to them...
