Whats the best rock album to come out since the turn of the century?
I have to go with Brand New's Deja Entendu. They were Rolling Stone's hottest band of 2003 and they are working on a new album now. You may not have heard of them yet but I'm sure their next album will be huge. The label will promote it like they have promoted other bands like My Chemical Romance and Taking Back Sunday. This is a brilliant album though, I encourage anyone that enjoys rock or experimental punk type stuff to check this out.

4. Hmmm...that s tough one...
If you're sticking to "rock" as a genre, I would say either "Madonna", by "...And you will Know Us by the Trail of Dead",

or "Toxicity" by System of a Down.

7. A lot of people liked Toxicity but I just don't get it.
Can you explain to me what made that one so special?

8. It's just so...
...musically complex, tight, and interesting. Weird, syncopated rhythms, influences from jazz, worldbeat, metal, etc... some good political lyrics, and some that are just...well...cryptic and fun to try and interpret.

6. The Mars Volta - "De-loused in the Comatorium"

I've said it so many times: This band is the fucking future of rock and roll. The energy, musicianship, everything about that damn album blows me away. Their followup (that came out this past Tuesday) "Frances The Mute" is also quite incredible.

Brand New is a great band though, probably my favourite emo band.

9. Queens of the Stone Age............................
"Songs for the Deaf". However this record may only stand until later this month when the new QOTSA album "Lullabyes to Paralyze" comes out.

11. They are amazing....
One of the few instances where a band I liked (Kyuss) disbanded and a superior band emerged as a result.

16. Maybe I should take a listen to it. I haven't yet because ...
I don't really like the single. But they never really represent albums well anyway.

19. Wilco- Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
Very original, great musicianship, great songwriting, and "Jesus Etc." is downright creepy.

Honorable mentions go to Radiohead- Kid A, Interpol- Turn on the Bright Lights, and Modest Mouse- Good News for People who like Bad News.
