Why do most TV commercials depict men as complete fucking idiots?

Sometimes I'm amazed. I just saw a commercial where a guy's roof was leaking and he asks the roof repairman, "Do you think the water is good for my TV?"

I'll bet many of you can think of other examples.

...and make home purchase decisions.

It doesn't square with my family, with men who cook and vacuum, and women who do repairs...but hey, they are appealing to the LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR.

I find any ad that denigrates just stupid. I force the youngsters to deconstruct ads that they see--why do they say that? What do they want you to do, buy their crappy product? How are they trying to con you into parting with your money? Does the product hype approach reality?

I'm surrounded by midget cynics....a good thing!
