1. Cut it in half. Scoop the pumpkin gunk out,
put the halves in a collandar, split side down and steam for about 8 minutes.

Scrape with a fork over a bowl. Voila!

3. slice it in half lengthwise ....bake it or nuke it and then cover it with
spaghetti sauce and grated parmesan cheese! You can eat it out of the shell or take a fork and run it through it widthwise and make a pile of the strings and then cover it with the sauce and cheese.

7. No. It's easy!
Cut in half.

Throw both halves on an oiled cookie sheet (cut side down). Cook on 350 'til tender.

1 medium spaghetti squash
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 stick butter
Salt and pepper

Use a paring knife to prick squash all over. Place in a baking dish and bake 1 hour or until soft. Cut squash in half. Scoop out and discard seeds. Using a fork, scrape flesh in strings into a serving bowl. Toss with Parmesan and butter and season to taste with salt and pepper.

There are a few others that use spaghetti sauce. Hope you like it!

edit: redundant

6. I have cut it in half the long way.
Turn the oven on 350.

Spray a cookie sheet with olive oil.

Put both halves down on the cookie sheet, cut side down.

Cook for about an hour until the flesh of the squash is tender.

You can pull out the strands of the spaghetti squash with a fork and serve tossed butter and salt/pepper, or with cinnamon and sugar, or just about any way that sounds good to you!

Never could understand the appeal of spaghetti squash, too watery and bland for me. oops, not meaning to start a flame war. Drink absinthe.

11. If you bake them instead of steam them, they carmelize a bit
and aren't watery. Tasty.

Kind of like the difference between a steamed or boiled potato and a one baked or roasted in the oven.

14. Why do you cook spaghetti squash?
Or any squash at all, for that matter. Only the pumpkin has any culinary value, and that only as a pie.

It's not in the same league as spinach, but it is a worthy competitor with broccoli.

Give me meat.
