14. I have to admit, I have never been "fat" but I have been overweight

and it is damn difficult to lose even 10 pounds. You have my very real sympathy. I would never knowingly hurt any "fat person" in any way. If I genuinely offended anyone, I sincerely apologize.

maybe we're happy and jolly on the outside because we can't stand the pain insensitive remarks cause us. Maybe we cringe everytime we have to eat in public because the generic 'you' gives us that knowing look. "she's so fat, if she'd just put that fork down"
Sometimes our behaviours are self defense. Ever have to ask for a seat belt extender on an airplane? Have you ever had trouble finding clothes to fit, better yet even look good?
Diets don't work for some people. Oh yeah, I've been there, atkins, weight watchers, pritkin, slim fast, grapefruit, soup, I've exercised .. ad nauseum.

I've rambled too much here .... and yes, I'll smile at those who poke fun, it beats crying.

omg you have made my life a whole much better. I have to fly on planes occasionally because my college is far from home. And I hated flying because the belt on the plane was so tight and I would like sweat because it hurted so much. But now if the planes have sea belt extender then YIPPPPEEEEEE. Thanks

4. There Are Some People (Wingnuts, LIMBOsevic) Who

are targets for, imho, WHATEVER we can throw at them--weight or lack of it (DanCOULTER), sexuality, looks, whatever.

I myself years ago had a problem with choosing cuss words because two of the main categories were off limits for me: 1) religious words as cusswords because of respect for genuine spirituality, and 2) sex words because SEX IS GOOD. Eventually, I settled on the scatological cusswords, although THOSE literal functions also are necessary and positive.

Over the past 4+ years, it has bothered me to see Shrub called "chimp" because of the insult to lovable creatures. As far as that goes, just about any other animal is difficult for me to use as a cussword, pig, rat, etc. Even the reptiles I'm yucky about.
