Just saw Shonen Knife - ask me anything
Wonderful show at the Hollywood Knitting Factor. Absolutely the most fun I've ever seen a rock band have.

They played their cover of "Top of the World" as an encore.

Warm up band The Muffs were very good as well.

6. Sounds like a good show.
Didn't know Shonen Knife was still around either.

Did the Muffs play any of The Beards'(Kim Shattuck's other band) songs? Kim is a dream date of mine. Hope they do an east coast tour.

10. Don't know
Never heard The Muffs before this show. They were good enough that I bought a CD right on the spot.

14. Glad you liked them
I was going to point you towards a video site where they had both Beards and Muffs videos but it's apparently been sucked up by mp3.com and I hate that company so I won't even search through it to see if the videos are still available. You can get Muffs videos on their site. The Muffs.

I have a double album Shonen Knife tribute from the late 80's with bands like Sonic Youth, Government Issue, Lunachicks, L7, Mr T Experience and tons of others doing Shonen Knife songs. like all tribute albums there's some great stuff and some really horrible versions on it. I might have to slap that on later. I bet I haven't listened to that in 5-10 years.

15. I have that album too!
Just got it used at Amoeba records. I thought the cover was hilarious - part of the reason I got it.

7. Did they do 'Brown Mushrooms'?
:D

Saw them open for Nirvana in '93 and on the small stage at Lollapalooza (sp) in '94......both shows were excellent.

9. Don't think so
But I'm only really familiar with "Let's Knife", not their other albums.
