Someone peed in my bed last night/early this morning
I've been watching them all day, looking for a hint of "guilt".

I wonder which one did it??

6. Do cats feel guilt?
Smug satisfaction, that I've seen. Mischeviousness? Definately. Even spitefulness. But I never detected guilt.

PS - this is not a 'bash' against cats. I love cats.

7. You will "never know." My experience with cats is that they feel very
little guilt. With four cats.....they will cover for each other.

However, one of them might have a bad urinary infection. The other thing I read in a "Cat Help" book is that in the wild they learn not to show signs of "weakness" to predators. So cats of all the animals will hide their illness from anyone. The book said that as an owner you need to be aware that little signs you notice are really BIG signs, because they keep the "bad news" from us until they are in serious trouble.

Good luck....something's up.....unless you have an "incontinent" visitor in the night whose human!

9. Heh
Male is always going at it with Streak.

Streak slaps her, and runs away. Male can't catch her.

13. My friend peed on my other friend's laptop a few weekends ago
Drunk off his ass at a hotel. I never drink more than a few, and nobody can seem to explain to me why being drunk would cause one to confuse a computer for a toilet. It wasn't even in the bathroom, it was next to the TV stand.

16. They think they're at home
It's like a dream state and they go to where the toilet would be in relation to the bed if they were at home. This happened to me during Junior Year Abroad in England long ago. My roommate Lee (also American) and I woke to see Vince (British) from down the hall standing at our easy chair, which had one of my sweaters on it. Lee says: "Vince, what are you doing?" "Pissin', boys!" says Vince.

The next day he was mortified, and gave me a replacement sweater (jumper over there). It was as I said; the corner where he was peeing was where the toilet would be at his parents' house.

14. Stealth peeing
A cat lover's worst nightmare.

Winky likes to pee right at our front door, when she's "pissed" (he he he) - she knows it's the first thing we'll see when we go to get the papers.

17. It was the male kitty
I know that look, when my cat was peeing...he had that look also. The vet put him on anti-depressants for about 3 months and he's fine now. Only pees in the box!
Thank god

18. It's amazing you should say that!!!!!
Edited on Sat Oct-11-03 08:48 PM by CatWoman
Male is a female by the way (her name is pronounced "Molly", Female is pronounced FEE-Molly -- long story, ok?? :D )

Anyway, Male was on valium about six months ago.

She does now and has always used the litter box.

The vet says she has "issues".

19. I would worry about a urinary tract infection.
Sometimes they pee on your bed to let you know something isn't right.

22. That's how I found out one of my babies was ill
He pee'd (just a piddle) at the foot of my bed.

He had FUS, that was difficult to control. I can't write too much about it without getting emotional, but we went through a two year roller coaster ride. One night he died in my arms, I massaged his heart and gave him mouth to mouth. The next morning, he was 'fine', he passed away about a year later. I miss him so much, I want to cry. He use to lay on my bed and call out to me until I came in to play with him - he loved to play fetch. I'd toss his mousie in the air, he'd jump and do flips in the air, then bring it back to me, so we could do it all over again and again and again ...

I have 3 little monsters now, and two of them are chewing up my bath mat, and have now graduated to the shower curtain. Why oh why? Isabel or Izzy (our newest addition, named after the hurricane that she really is) taught Michigan the bathmat/shower curtain trick.
