Corporate recruiting firms?
Hi, everybody!

I've been approached by a number of placement firms, but one of them I've never heard of.

So far, the ones I've talked with are:
The Lucas Group
Bradley-Morris
New Careers

Does anybody have any information on that last one?

Also, what are some other, well established placement firms I should be talking to? With my military officer background, I would like a managerial type position.

Any help would be great!

Brian

1. Hey Superfly
I used to be a recruiter (b4 the dot-bomb). Most recruiting companies are very small. It's easy to start one up. In fact, of all the 'big name' recruiting companies, I can't think of a single one I'd recommend. They're all just big 'body shops'. They're driven only by numbers and only care about you if they can place you quickly with no fuss.

If you want to work with a recruiting company I recommend looking for small recruiting companies with one or two offices. Make sure they've been in your area for at least 5+ years. I also recommend interviewing your recruiter and finding out how (or if) they intend to market your resume to their clients.

Gotta leave now, but I can answer more questions later this afternoon if you have any.

3. Recruitment firm information you need to have.
There's a big red book titled: "Directory of Executive Recruiters." It's at all major bookstores. There's also a small book (from the same company - Kennedy Publications) titled: "Working With Executive Recruiters."

In addition, take a look at: www.expage.com/careersearch
