What's your favorite animal (and post pics)...
Mine is the California Condor. I guess I have Gayle Norton to thank for something.

/sigh

2. Wow! Is that a real animal?
I've never heard of it before.

Mix between a lion and a tiger?

It's fantastic, and it's got a Bengal tiger as a main "character".

14. Actually, I haven't.
But I've had a few people recommend it to me. Just another one to add to "the list."

I keep buying books, but can't keep up. I bought 6 or 7 books within the span of a week, so they're on the docket right now. I'm just now reading a book I bought more than a year ago. *sigh*

but not quite so good at reading them. I find I get through the first chapter of most and then pick up something else that looks interesting.

Doh!

18. Giraffes are one of the most fantastic animals in the world to me
fantastic in the sense of "fantasy" like they shouldn't really exist in our world, like they're something from somewhere a bit more "magical".

Hard to explain. Like the duck-billed platypus, that everyone thought was a fake when it was first discovered.

19. They're sooooo cool!
But I think they're nocturnal, so I've never seen them interact (at a zoo). They mostly just sit there sleeping.

Now that's the life for me!

21. What's that some kinda weasel or something?
In one of the eps of Blue Planet, they show a Polar bear taking down a freaking WHALE! It's one of the most incredible things I've ever seen.

The singular most incredible is also in a Blue Planet Episode ("Open Ocean"), where these diving birds are "flying" in flocks underwater. On a big screen it's the most amazing and breathtaking footage I've ever seen.

Polar Bears ROCK!

25. Hawks are very cool too...
We've had great success in my area with red-tailed hawks returning. The numbers dipped for quite a while, but are back up, and they're a common sight in Southern California.

I love that thing they do to hover there in midair while checking out what's going on on the ground. The amount of energy that must take is astounding.

29. Elephants are awsome!
They're both so huge and so gentle at the same time. Just the amount of control they have over their trunks and the way they can manipulate things with them (like open shells) is amazing.

Love those elephants!
