day? i've been here 3 1/2 years, and haven't made it yet. a pre-pre-DU party might not be a bad idea; it's always good to keep the liver in tip-top shape.

But that's about right.

Put the corned beef into a deep pot and cover it with water. Bring to a boil. Skim off the scum. Then put the contents of the seasoning packet into cheesecloth and tie shut. Put into the pot.

Simmer for 3 hours or until meet is tender. Add all the vegetables. Cook until vegetable are tender. Eat.

The daisy ham is smaller and since there's only 3 of us eating it (and my portions are miniscule since my surgery) I couldn't see spending the money on a big brisket. The little daisy ham cost $4.

with fresh, very garlicky pesto sauce, lightly roasted pine nuts, and fresh grated Parmesan cheese, fresh organic Ceasar salad with giant croutons, freshly made dressing and big juicy tomoatoes (I know tomatoes aren't normally on Ceasar salads, but I like them).

Crisp but soft garlic bread on the side.

A nice red wine. All ingredients except the wine must be embarrassingly fresh!

Heaven. On. Earth.

Second favorite: a filet mignon from Del Frisco's in Dallas (like BUTTAH) or any VERY well-prepared grilled jumbo shrimp dish.
