Both of my paternal grandparents were born in Sweden. My mom's family is more complicated, both sides of her family go back to the Mayflower. They are English, Irish, German and who knows what else. The neat thing is that both sides of my mom's family have groups that have done extensive geneology, we have bound volumes with the names of each family member going back to before the American Revolution. We each have a family number - the last four digits of mine are 1111 since I am the first child of the first child, etc.
