Sigh....Just got my FIRST pair of glasses.
They are a really weak prescription, just for reading. Man, it is hard going from reading the newspaper to looking around the room. Any suggestions from fellow reading glass wearing folks on how to function with them?

7. Yikes Matcom! Full time?
I actually LIKE them. They were kinda expensive and damn, they are sexy, if I don't say so myself.
I guess I am a freak. I always wanted glasses growing up. Now, I finally have them.

4. I remember the day...38 years ago when I got my first glasses
It'll get better.

The biggest problem you are going to have is LOSING the darn things.

My advice, don't be proud, get a band and wear them around your neck, or get used to parking them on top of your head.

5. Be very careful not to fall asleep with them on
:)

I know it's a given, but damned if I haven't falled asleep way too many times when cuddling up with a super good book.

Now my glasses are kind of lopsided. You can't tell unless you really look, (I hope), but the imperfection is still there whenever I look in the mirror. ;)

I sure miss my contacts!

6. Have you seen/considered half glasses,
so you can peer over the top? Then when you look down to read, voila'!
