In John Kleeb's honor: do you still have your appendix?

I lost mine at 21, in 1979. It was a bad one, it burst and made a hell of a mess, and I was in the hospital for almost a week. The funny thing is that I never felt any pain (until after the surgery), which made it kinda difficult for them to diagnose. What's more, it was done in the middle of the night, and when I was wheeled to my ward at 3:00 AM I was hallucinating due to the anesthetic, babbling away something awful, and I had to apologize to the whole floor the next day.

Anyway, enough about me. What's the state of your appendix?

because she thought it might be inflamed. It was something else.

3. Why is it that it seems...

that appendectomies and tonsillectomies just aren't as common as they used to be?

Seems like in my mom's generation, they yanked out your tonsils when you came in for a polio shot, just for good measure.

4. I still have mine...

I don't think anyone in my family, or anyone I have ever known, has had to have their appendix removed. I had my wisdom teeth taken out Thursday. That anesthesia stuff is awesome.

7. nope mine was removed 2 years ago

i had this horrible pain...kind of like i needed to pass gas but it wouldn't go away. I couldn't sleep which was a pretty good indicator since i have been accused of being narcoleptic. Went to ER and it was out w/in 5 hours.

That big kidney stone a few years ago though, holy shit did that hurt!

...hurt like hell when it went, too. that little time bomb always gave me the heebie jeebies, like i knew it would go at some point.

I haven't had to have surgery yet, so I'm hoping that perfect record stays intact a while longer.

Just watch. Now I'll find out I need to have it removed because I shot my mouth off. Bastards. :P
